Be Here, or There, Now

I started doing Transcendental Meditation on January 13, 1973, and quit the first time I read about TM moving into the boardrooms of America to make managers and bosses more productive, which I read as better able to exploit workers.

Here we go again, with the “mindfulness” trend becoming co-opted by the oligarchy. There’s money in them there mantras, y’all.

I am old enough to remember the book and the movement called “Be Here Now.” It was a sort of East-West blend of sati.

So remember always: “Wherever you go, there you are,” under the thumbs of a bunch of sociopathic bosses.

Stay mindful, y’all.

Oh my gosh–here (there) you are (and now)! I have somehow missed all of these posts –looking forward to reading what I’ve missed.

Yes–if there’s a way to cash in on mindfulness and the present moment, someone will grab it. Be here (for profit) now.

Nice to see you, Alice. We’ll sell anything in this country. Oh, wait! We have.
